City of Donna Honors October Employees of the Month: Irene Limon and Erica Sandoval Limon
Donna, TX The City of Donna proudly recognized two outstanding team members, Ms. Irene Limon and Ms. Erica Sandoval Limon, as the October 2025 Employees of the Month during the City Council meeting held on November 4, 2025.
The City’s Employee of the Month program, introduced to celebrate excellence in public service and enhance workplace morale, continues to highlight the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork of Donna’s municipal employees.
City Manager Jorge Peña commended both honorees, noting how the program has strengthened workplace culture and encouraged positive recognition among departments.
“This program is really taking off; it’s helping us build a stronger, more positive culture within our city team,” said Peña. “I’m very appreciative of the department heads who take the time to nominate their employees and recognize their hard work. Both women exemplify what it means to serve with excellence.”
Mayor David Moreno presented the awards, offering personal thanks and recognition to each recipient.
“I have firsthand knowledge of the great work these two ladies do every day,” said Mayor Moreno. “Their dedication to customer service and to making Donna a better place is truly commendable. We are so grateful for their professionalism, their heart, and their daily contributions to our community.”
Recognizing 40 Years of Service: Irene Limon
One of the honorees, Ms. Irene Limon, was celebrated for her remarkable 40 years of service with the City of Donna an achievement that reflects decades of loyalty, knowledge, and commitment to public service.
“Irene has given so much of her life to this city,” said Mayor Moreno. “Her dedication and professionalism have made her an example to all of us. She’s part of what makes Donna strong.
Recognizing Rising Leadership: Erica Sandoval Limon
Ms. Erica Sandoval Limon, who serves as a key member of the Donna Economic Development Corporation (EDC) team, was also recognized for her leadership, enthusiasm, and vital role in advancing the city’s economic initiatives.
“Erica has become an integral part of our economic development team,” said Mayor Moreno. “She and our EDC Executive Director, April Castaneda, are doing amazing things for our community. Her energy and commitment are helping drive growth and opportunity for the people of Donna.”
The recognition ceremony concluded with applause from city staff, council members, and guests, celebrating both honorees for their continued dedication and positive impact on the City of Donna.
“We have amazing employees, and it’s always a joy to recognize them,” said Mayor Moreno. “Their service keeps our city moving forward.”
