To obtain a library card you must: (1) be 18 years of age or older; (2) be a resident of the State of Texas; (3) present an acceptable picture ID; and (4) present proof of your current address. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian apply for you. Parents or legal guardians are responsible for items checked out by a minor. To apply for a card you will need one of the following proofs of residency:

Acceptable Photo ID

  • Driver's license, temporary Texas driver's license or learner's permit (with additional photo ID)
  • Texas Department of Public Safety ID
  • Passport
  • Resident Alien Registration Card

Acceptable Proof of Current Address in Your Name

  • Driver's license, temporary Texas Driver's license or learner's permit
  • Texas Department of Public Safety ID
  • Personalized check, savings passbook, bank or credit union statement
  • Utility deposit receipt or utility bill
  • Current credit card bill
  • Voter's registration or notarized temporary voter's registration permit
  • Vehicle registration or liability insurance
  • Official rent receipt; rental agreement, contract or lease
  • Mail postmarked within the last 30 days (if none of the above is available)

To apply for a library card you will need to fill out an application online at the circulation desk of the Donna Public Library.

You will also need to present your acceptable photo I.D. and proof of your current address. By receiving a library card, you agree to all the rules and fees of the Donna Public Library. Rules may be subject to change without prior notice.

Adult Application

To obtain a library card as an adult you must: (1) be 18 years of age or older and (2) a resident of the State of Texas.

You will need to present: (1) a picture ID (Drivers License, State ID Card, etc.) and (2) proof of your current address when you submit your application.

Child Application

If you are under 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian apply for you. They must meet the above requirements and come with you to the library you to apply for your card. Parents or legal guardians are responsible for items checked out by minors.

Fee Schedule

Overdue Book: $.05 per book per day

Audiovisuals: $.50 per video per day

Lost or Damaged Library Card: $1.75 for the first card plus $.25 for each additional lost card.

1st lost card: $1.75

2nd lost card: $2.00

3rd lost card: $2.25 etc...

Item Checkout

You may check out up to 7 items at one time. Books may be checked out for 14 days. Videos must be checked out by adults only. Videos may be checked out for 3 days. No renewals on videos.
